BONUS: Particle Collisions: Small Scale Theatre Experiment Panel

Recorded on November 25, 2016 @ The Citadel Theatre

Moderator: Sarah Garton Stanley (National Arts Centre)
Guests:  Theo Pitsiavas & Chris Little (LoHiFi Productions), Erin Shields & Genevieve L. Blais (Théâtre à corps perdus), Ali Joy Richardson & Amanda Wong (Outside the March), Joey Tremblay (Curtain Razors), Trevor Schmidt (Northern Light Theatre), Matthew Payne & Pamela Bethel (Theatre Skam), Heather Inglis & Adam Tsuyoshi Turnbull (Theatre Yes)

From November 24th – December 4th 2016 Theatre Yes’s ANXIETY challenged audiences to explore the underbelly of fight or flight as they journeyed through a one-of-a-kind immersive performance experience, in collaboration with 6 of Canada’s most inventive small theatre companies:   Northern Light Theatre from (Edmonton), Theatre Skam (Victoria) and Outside the March (Toronto), LoHiFi Production (Halifax) and Curtain Razors (Regina) ad Théâtre à corps perdus (Montreal). On November 25th a day-long symposium-style discussion occurred between all companies and explored how the independent theatre sector can more effectively share work, build and sustain audiences, and create ongoing dissemination networks. The day concluded with a public panel that re-caped the highlights of the discoveries made during ANXIETY and invited public questions/conversation about small-scale work and the role of small-scale risk takers in the ecology of Canadian arts and culture. Sarah Stanley of the National Arts Centre facilitated both sessions in her role of Associate Artistic Director of English Theatre. This is a recording of that panel.
